Blancpain 6 Hours of Paul Ricard
« on: June 24, 2017, 10:16:47 AM »
Fisico's team-mate James Calado got the fastest time in Q1 for the 6 Hours of Paul Ricard, which is great to see :) Keep it up for the rest of the weekend!

That Q1 performance did not convert to pole but it's not clear where Fisico and his friends ended up qualifying.

I thought the Blancpain race stared tomorrow but apparently it was half an hour ago...

There's already been crashes, most notably between the #51 AF Corse Ferrari and the #911 Porsche. The former is out of the race and the latter has a 1-minute stop/go penalty.

Green flag! Still not sure where Fisico and his friends are, except that he's still in the race.

Update: Marco Cioci is currently in the #55 Kapersky Ferrari that Fisico will later drive, and he's in 12th. Which is absolutely fine at this point of the race. 5 hours and 12 minutes to go.

Marco's overtaken a Mercedes for 11th place, in a move so stylish the commentator called Marco "Fisichella"  ;D

Marco is now at the back of a cluster of 4 cars fighting for 8th (including the leading Pro-Am car).

Marco's up to 9th and is now trying to pass the #66 Lambourghini in 8th. He's having a fantastic stint :)

Marco's up to 8th, having done a beautiful outside pass of the Lambourghini. He's now chasing the #85 Mercedes for 7th overall.

Fisico apparently already has been in the car but got swapped out. From what the commentators are saying, it's helpful for a team to give one driver a two-hour stint at the end (when it is darkening). There is a minimum drive time limit, and it is possible that Fisico was swapped out early so he can do that final 2-hour stint.

Meanwhile, Marco's just overtaken a Mercedes and another car and become 6th. Next target is Bruno Spengler.

The #67 Lambourghini has stopped running, and this will require yellow flags to be on the Mistral straight.

The #67 Lamboughini has restarted and limped back to the pits. A flying lap is just over 2 minutes, and a pit stop must be at least 91 seconds.

Our car is now in 2nd. Way to go, Marco, Fisico and Kapersky Motorsport!

The gap between the #55 Kapersky and the car it's chasing is 2.4 seconds... ...a car which is still being driven by Marco Cioci, not Giancarlo Fisichella as the live stream captioning just claimed. Marco's being chased intensely by the Jaguar... ...but the Jaguar just slipped through on the inside of a corner.

If you wish to see the free live stream for yourself, it's here. There's supposedly live timing too but I've seen no sign of it yet.

Meanwhile, the #777 is on fire.

Marco is now 2 seconds behind the Jaguar, and in 3rd position. That's far enough that aero cooling problems won't occur, but still 3 seconds ahead of the car in 4th.
