Christian Fittipaldi crashed hard into the wall and caused a full-course yellow. He pitted to change the damaged tyre, then got swiped by a Mercedes on the way out! I think we found the second-unluckiest driver of the race...

Halfway through the race, and the leading GTLMs have been swiping each other, resulting in the #912 having to head back to the pits for a wheel replacement.

Four cars pitted when the pits were closed - the #28, #5, #48 and #75 - and now have a 1 minute penalty. Here, that's almost a lap.

Now the #66 and #911 have hit each other, and the #66 has had its rear wing knocked off by another car. Clearly a lot of people are having a bad day.

Now, there are overtakes under yellow flags as the #911 has blocked the track. This race is a horrible mess.

And Fisico, back in the pitlane, stands completely innocent.

Unsurprisingly, there is a yellow flag. We have now had 4 separate yellow flags in 52 minutes (2 of which were caused by the accident that took out Fisico's car).

During the yellow flag, the #28 car is trying to convince the stewards not to make them do the 1-minute penalty they were awarded for pitting in a closed pit. Don't think that's going to work...

The #70 Mazda nearly lost a wheel as it wasn't properly attached. Thankfully an alert official noticed and stopped the car before it could come off in the pits.

The #66 Ford has had its rear wing torn off and replaced.

The #911 appears to have been given a penalty for contact against the #66 Ford.

Dane Cameron has crashed, triggering the 5th full-course caution due to the wall moving 18 inches. Dane seems to be OK but he's going to ache tomorrow morning :(

Toni has apologised to the Tequila Patron team for the lap 1 crash. He reports that someone else (I suspect the #66 Ford, given such clues as its proximity and the subsequent loss of its bonnet) pushed him into the collision.

Toni has a good heart.

Just as the GTLM field had settled down for 5 minutes... ...the class-leading Ford (Tomcyk) lost power and the lead of the GTLM class. I think the #3 Corvette is leading, but for how long? (23 minutes to go).

We have now managed a whole 10 laps without a yellow flag - the most so far this race.

The #24 BMW (Tomcyck) has lightly hit Jordan Taylor. We nearly got another yellow flag there... What a mess!

The #4 Corvette has won the GTLM class of the IMSA Long Beach race, with the #3 Corvette immediately behind... ...because the #3 got stuck behind a pair of crashed GTD cars.

There's not much to say about this race, except that it's a real pity Fisico and Toni didn't get to do the whole race (or any of it, in Fisico's case).
