F1 & Ferrari / Owl Post "Gomme da Bagnato"
« Last post by Alianora La Canta on December 05, 2017, 06:53:18 PM »
Fisico has written a beautiful long piece, "Gomme da Bagnato" in Italian for Owl Post. I haven't finished reading it yet, but am enjoying the way Fisico phrases his experiences with wet-weather races, of what the word "fear" means to him and the demands the sport of motor racing places on those who are called to compete there.

(Also, I completely missed that Fisico was in a radio show called 1 Giorno da Pecora (tweet in Italian) on November 30th. Facebook has a video of the occasion. I will try to translate it when possible (at the moment, I am having trouble with the playback of the video).

Fisico was at a Ferrari celebration today in Bologna, driving a Ferrari 488 and assorted other road cars. Interestingly, Antonio Giovanazzi got to drive the Ferrari F60, which is something Fisico normally has the honour of demonstrating.

I'm hoping this means that Fisico will stay with Ferrari for the future but nothing can be 100% sure.
IMSA Racing / Re: Fisico, Risi and BMW

Now if Fisico stays with Ferrari (which is what I hope happens), he'll get to race a new aero kit for the Ferrari 488 next year. Ferrari will introduce the Evo package on both its GTLM and GT3 cars. This will change the bumpers, splitter and floor, with the idea of improving driveability.

Either way, there's a very good chance that Fisico will be at Daytona. In which case his garage will be decided in a race at the end of the Roar Before the 24.
IMSA Racing / Fisico, Risi and BMW

An interesting and surprising item of news appeared this evening - BMW are apparently trying to get Fisico to join them.

I'm not really sure how that fits into Fisico's dreams and ambitions. However, the fact that Risi isn't yet guaranteed to be a full-season entry is probably not helping. Nor are the investigations into Kapersky in the USA (which could potentially jeopoardise his Blancpain entry, since they're sponsoring it). AF Corse is happy with its WEC drivers and is only allowed two cars per class, so that's not really an option either. Being a Ferrari driver is beautiful, but less so if you don't get to drive anything...

Fisico is going to be at some sort of trade show in Fiera a week on Friday for his new sponsor.
Blancpain Endurance / Kapersky Motorsport interviews Fisico
« Last post by Alianora La Canta on November 05, 2017, 11:16:42 PM »
A Fisico interview has been published by his Blancpain team, Kapersky Motorsport. Highlights include Fisico mentioning that his first racing hero was Niki Lauda because his dad was also a fan of Niki, an explanation on why he always does certain pre-race things the same way, and a surprise answer for "Who is your best team-mate?"
IMSA Racing / 2018 Daytona 24 Hours

It's that time of the year again! Fisico is almost certainly going to be doing the Daytona 24... ...and so is his good friend Fernando Alonso. Fernando won't be Fisico's team-mate, opting for a United Autosports prototype in hopes of overall victory and preparation for an outright win at Le Mans one day.

Fisico knows the endurance scene well, and has given some advice via a Spanish-language interview for (I'm sure, as good friends, they've said more about it to each other's faces, but we don't get to hear that bit for good reason).

Fisico has advised that Fernando would only learn from Daytona (in that, it is a good place to learn endurance racing), and that in particular traffic management and staying on the lead lap is vital for Daytona. He is also not convinced this will teach Fernando everything he needs to learn to win Le Mans (which is part of the Triple Crown Fernando seeks). This is because Le Mans is about seeking advantage across the entire race; in Daytona, anyone on the lead lap 2 hours before the end has a good chance of victory.

Finally, Fisico noted that having Fernando join the Daytona race was great for endurance racing and IMSA alike.
F1 & Ferrari / FerrariFM17 Celebration

I missed this from a few days ago, but Fisico drove at a demonstration of Ferrari cars called Ferrari FM17 from the 70 years of his marque's existence.

At some point during that day, it appears that Fisico gave one of his fans a racing glove.
